Ngianga-Bakwin founded The Hendrick International Research Group. He now serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He provides leadership, research capacity building in research and biostatistics, business and enterprise, strategy, sales strategy & solutions.
In addition to chairing the HIC, Ngianga-Bakwin serves as Distinguished Professor of Biostatistics, School of Public Health, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa and a Visiting Professor at Warwick Medical School, UK. He is an active researcher and serves in several research management roles in academia. Prior to this, he worked successively as Professor of Biostatistics, Director of Business and Enterprise, Head of Applied Statistics Research Group at Northumbria University, UK and Head of Health Economics and Evidence Synthesis Research Unit at the Luxembourg Institute of Health, Luxembourg. He was Associate Professor in Health Technology Assessment, a joint appointment with the Universities of Oxford and Warwick. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Agder, Norway. For the past 20 years, his main research interests are in Bayesian statistical methods and their application to epidemiology and health (maternal and child health and a variety of health-related health inequalities both in developing countries and command economies, using large scale household data).
